John M. Torrence CRPS®, AIF®
As managing partner of Masso Torrence Wealth Management, John Torrence oversees the investment management process focusing primarily on portfolio construction. He spends a great deal of time utilizing advanced analytical tools and research provided by firms such as BlackRock, J.P. Morgan and Goldman Sachs. John’s work offers the rewarding challenge of simplifying the complex lives of our clients by creating a cohesive strategy and building resilient portfolios to meet their objectives in the most efficient manner possible.
John entered the wealth management business in 1994 and has been associated with Merrill Lynch, DB Alex Brown and UBS prior to co-founding MTWM with Chris Masso in 2008. Not only does he hold the Chartered Retirement Plan SpecialistSM (CRPS®) designation, but he also holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation. This is the industry’s first designation that demonstrates knowledge and competency in the area of fiduciary responsibility and communicates a commitment to standards of investment fiduciary excellence.
When he isn’t working, John supports charitable organizations relating to cancer research, children’s causes and animal welfare. He also spends much of his time with his wife, Melissa and son, Jack. Together, they can be found attending Jack’s sporting events including travel baseball, DEK hockey and competitive flag football. When they aren’t cheering on Jack, the family enjoys spending time in Margate throughout the summer.
